Quixote Syndrome (Original: oil on canvas, 40×30 cm)

This artwork presents a solitary warrior standing on a sun-drenched hillside, his muscular figure rendered with vigorous brushwork and warm, earthy hues. Behind him, a line of windmills rises over the rolling landscape; an unmistakable echo of La Mancha, where Cervantes’ wandering knight once confronted his imagined giants. The scene feels suspended between eras: his archaic garments and sword suggest the distant past, while his alert, self-aware gaze hints at someone who might very well belong to the present.

The title, Quixote Syndrome, opens the work to a psychological reading. It refers to those who hold fantasy close to their core, who inhabit imagined worlds alongside the real one, finding purpose and identity within these private mythologies. The character stands at the threshold between these spheres, both empowered and burdened by the visions he chooses to follow.
