Bathed in the golden light of early autumn, Deer on the Path captures a moment of quiet grace within the forests of the Black Forest region. The composition draws the viewer into a luminous corridor of colour — blazing reds, oranges and yellows — where a small family of deer pauses mid-journey. Their stillness contrasts with the vibrant motion of the foliage, as if nature itself were breathing around them.

Laime’s brushwork is vigorous and intuitive, layering short, broken strokes to evoke the flicker of leaves and the rhythm of light.
